For brands and affiliate managers
Work With Us
What we will do, what we will not, and what to put in a first email.
Last updated
CakeDecoratingCalc covers cake decorating and baking: servings and pan sizes, batter and bake times, frosting and ganache ratios, tiered cake structure, and the equipment that does all of it. 362 pages, 142 verified products, and an audience that arrives with a specific number they need and a purchase in mind.
What we will do
- Add a product to the catalogue if it is genuinely the right answer for a tier on a page. Every product here is checked against its Amazon listing before it appears.
- Correct a specification we have got wrong. Send the published figure and it gets fixed at the source, which usually updates several pages at once.
- Discuss an affiliate relationship outside Amazon, where a brand sells direct and the product genuinely belongs on a page.
- Talk about a review of a specific piece of equipment, on the understanding below.
What we will not do
- Claim to have tested something. This site says plainly on every page that it does not do hands-on testing, and that will not change for a placement. A sample does not buy a testing claim.
- Sell a top pick. Placement is not for sale at any price. Where a product wins, it wins on published specifications and the consensus of owner reviews, and the page says why in terms a reader can check.
- Publish undisclosed sponsored content. If anything is ever paid for, it will say so on the page, plainly and at the top.
- Invent a winner where there is none. Several categories here are dominated by unbranded multipacks and link a scoped search instead of naming one. A genuine manufacturer entering one of those categories is interesting; another unbranded pack is not.
What to include
A first message is far more useful with the following in it, and much slower without.
- The specific product, with a link to its listing and to its published specifications.
- What it does that the products currently on the relevant page do not.
- Which page or category you think it belongs on.
- The commercial arrangement you have in mind, if any.
Readers with a correction or a product suggestion should use the contact page instead. How the site is funded is set out on the affiliate disclosure page, and the methodology behind every figure is on the about page.
